What to Bring: Each camper should dress in t-shirt, shorts, and
gym shoes. Campers can either bring their own water bottle or purchase bottles of water and snacks at our camp.
Boxing gloves will be provided.
Family discounts: $10 off for each additional child in
the same household.
Camp Philosophy:
Chicago Boxing Club summer camps are designed to
provide the opportunity for every camper to improve his or her athletic fitness and strength while raising self-esteem.
Campers will learn discipline, boxing exercise techniques, and burn off energy in a controlled environment. Camper safety
is a priority. There will be no sparring and students will never be punched.
Trainers:
Tony Maldonado brings years of experience in coaching boxing to Bridgeport neighborhood youths. He
is the head coach for the De LaSalle High School boxing team where he has run the boxing program since 2002. Tony holds an
amateur career record of 20-4 and is a former Chicago Golden Gloves Champion as well as an Illinois State Champion. Tony is
employed as a Spanish teacher at De LaSalle High School and graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 1999.
All camp activities will be overseen by Sam Colonna,
Boxing Coach, Trainer and Partner of Chicago Boxing Club has over 25 years of experience training boxers. He has worked with
hundreds of amateurs and has cultivated scores of Chicago Golden-Gloves, Illinois State and National Golden-Gloves champions. Sam trains boxers of all ages including Chicago Boxing Club team
members, Golden Glove amateurs and experienced professionals.
